The Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up Set for April 25

Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup will take place in West Virginia for the counties of Marshall, Tyler & Wetzel and in Ohio for Monroe County on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9 A.M. – 12 NOON. Drop off at Covestro LLC East Parking Lot WV State Route 2.

Residents of Marshall, Tyler and Wetzel counties in West Virginia and Ohio’s Monroe County are invited to bring their household hazardous waste to an area cleanup set for April 25th in New Martinsville, West Virginia.

The Westlake/ Covestro/ Williams Community Advisory Panel (CAP) is sponsoring the event, which also is supported by Marshall County and other local solid waste authorities and districts of the participating counties. Signs will identify the entrance to the collection site.

To prepare for the collection, participants must follow these guidelines:

∫ Latex and oil-based paints (including lead-containing paints), used motor oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, aerosol cans, automobile batteries, tires, and pesticides can be accepted.

∫ Only items from households (no schools, churches, organizations or commercial locations) can be accepted.

∫ Items should be left in their original containers and should not be mixed.

∫ If an item (such as used motor oil) must be delivered in a container other than the original, it should be clearly and accurately labeled. No containers will be returned.

∫ Large volumes (such as truckloads or 55-gallon drums) will not be accepted.

∫ Drivers should enter in the southeast entrance to Covestro parking lot on Route 2. The entrance will be marked.

∫ Drivers and all occupants should stay in their cars and proceed as directed.

∫ No electronic wastes, no gas cylinders and no fire extinguishers will be accepted.

∫ Drivers will need to sign a certification form stating that waste they are delivering is household. Forms will be available at the site.

∫ Only four tires per car will be accepted and no rims will be accepted.
