Tyler County, WV – A portion of WV 180 (Veteran’s Highway), near Sistersville, will be restricted to one lane, from milepost 1.0 to milepost 2.0, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, April 21, 2026, through early July, for a gas line installation. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect slight delays. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect delays.Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

Adams House Ministry

The Adams House Ministry at the Middlebourne United Methodist Church is requesting donations of toiletry items for its neighbors. Items needed include shampoo, body soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies and feminine hygiene products. Donations may be left at the Adams House, 306 East Street, on Tuesdays or Thursdays between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Checks may also be mailed to the Adams House Ministry at P.O. Box 93, Middlebourne, WV 26149. Please make a notation on the check indicating it is for toiletry items.

Bass Tournament to be Held in September

The WV Oil & Gas Festival Bass Tournament will be held at the St Marys Marina located at 617 Riverside Dr St Marys, WV on September 20, 2026. Registration is at 5:15 AM with Blast Off at 7:00 AM. Weigh In is at 4:00 PM with a five fish limit. 50HP minimum with working livewells required. Cost for the tournament is $100/boat and includes Big Bass.

Tournament highlights include; 80 percent payback of the number of boats, Champion Trophy, Runner-Up Trophy, Big Bass Trophy, raffles and a 50/50 will be available. For more information contact wvoilandgasfestival@gmail.com.

From Sprouts to Strong Roots

The Tyler County Family Support Center and Tyler County Family Resource Network will be holding a free community family affair celebrating you on April 23, 2026 in the Elks Lodge ballroom located at 333 Charles Street, Sistersville from 11 AM til 2 PM. There will be resources available to support every family member of your family including a light lunch being served with refreshments. Giveaways and door prizes will also be available.

The event is open for families who are expecting or with children up to the age of 4. The event is sponsored by the Tyler County Partners in Prevention.
