On Friday afternoon the 24th of April, Tyler Winkler signed a commitment agreement on National Signing Day to enter college. Tyler signed with Muskingum University.

Tyler Winkler’s an outstanding athlete in both football and wrestling and has been working towards this day since he was a young man. During his time at River, he has excelled and grown each year to become one of the Ohio Valley’s top wrestling competitors. In his senior year he gained his 100th win.

In the 2026 season Tyler finished the season, 49 wins and ten losses. He gives credit to his father, Marty Winkler for helping to develop his early skills and understanding of the science of the sport. Those were improved and honed to the highest level by his high school coaches, Eric Stephens and Chuck Baker. Tyler plans to study athletic science and hopes to become an athletic trainer after college and work in the sports world.
