Sean Winfrey Goes for the Pin

The Tyler Consolidated wrestling team traveled to Buckeye Local High School on Saturday, January 29th to compete in the 33rd Annual Ohio Coatings Panther Classic. As a team the Silver Knights finished in 11th place out of 26 teams. The Knights had four wrestlers finish in the top eight place winners. Sean Winfrey-4th place at 175, Steven Judge-6th place at 138, Branson Winfrey-7th place at 132 and Marques Jackson-7th place at 126. The Silver Knigts are back in action on Friday and Saturday, February 4th and 5th at Ritchie County for the Single A Challenge.

Single A Challenge at Ritchie County

The Silver Knights wrestling team finished in 4th place overall at the Single A Challenge at Ritchie County on February 5th out of 19 participating teams. Greenbrier West finished in 1st place followed by Williamstown and East Hardy taking 2nd and 3rd.

The Knights secured eight place winners overall. Trenton Huffman was the lone champion pinning his way through the tournament. Runner Ups included Kaden Huffman, Colsen Spragg, and Sean Winfrey. Fifth place finishers included Marques Jackson and Branson Winfrey. Steven Judge and Case Landis, were 7th place finishers. Case Landis saw his first action of the season after recovering from a finger injury. The Silver Knights return to action on February 12 at the LKC Tournament in Williamstown.
