Ty Walton Crosses the Goal Line for a TD

Tyler Consolidated improved their season record to 2-2 with a lopsided 46-14 win over Calhoun County on Monday night September 20 at Kidwell. The game was originally scheduled for Friday night but had to be moved to Monday to accommodate Calhoun who had several players coming off quarantine.

Calhoun would open the scoring after picking up a fumble and returning it for a touchdown for a 6-0 lead at the 4:00 mark of the first quarter.

Tyler would answer on a 9 yard pass to Ty Walton for the touchdown and Sean Winfrey converted the two point conversion to make the score 8-6 with one minute to go in the first quarter.

Jayden Helmick then returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown with Sean Winfrey again carrying the ball over for the two point conversion to make the score 16-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Following a three and out and a seven yard punt by Calhoun it gave Tyler the ball at the Calhoun 7 yard line. On the next play a 7 yard pass from Trenton Hoffman to Ty Walton for the touchdown and the two point conversion successful on a run by a Sean Winfrey extended the Tyler lead to 24-6.

The start of the second quarter saw a 75 yard pass and run to Jayden Helmick from Trenton Huffman and two point conversion by Sean Winfrey to make the score 32-6.

Sean Winfrey then went in for a score from 9 yards out, but the two point conversion failed to make the score 38-6.

Tyler blocked a Calhoun punt that rolled in the end zone and was recovered by the Silver Knights for a safety with 1:16 to go in the first first half to make the score 40-6.

Following the safety Jayden Helmick returned the punt for a touchdown but the two point conversion failed to make the score at halftime 46-6.

Calhoun managed to put eight points on the scoreboard in the second half but it was to little to late as the Knights secured the victory 46-14.

Tyler Consolidated moved to 2-2 on the season with the win and will take to the road on Friday for a big game against Wirt County, as they look for win three and continue towards making a move forward to the playoffs. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
