Blue Dons defeat Wildcats at home, 56-0

The second game of the season was a difficult one for the Paden City Wildcats as they faced off with 2009 State Champs, the Weirton Madonna Blue Dons. The Dons took little time in putting points on their side of the scoreboard to take the win from the ‘Cats, 56-0.
“They’re a very good football team,” said Wildcat head coach Brent Croasmun. “We just couldn’t get anything at all going offensively. Our kids played hard, we just couldn’t get anything done.”
Junior Taylor Still made strides for the Wildcats offensively gaining 50 yards on 25 carries.
Quarterback Geoffrey Bidwell connected on two of seven passes for four yards.
Defensively, Ben Anderson led the home team with nine tackles. Peyton Hinkley had eight tackles and one quarterback sack; Jay Billiter had eight tackles and a quarterback sack; Ricky Reed was credited with seven tackles; and Matt Barker recovered a fumble.
The top defense threat for the ‘Cats, Keith Hardbarger, is still missing from the starting line-up with an injury but hopes to return to his position in a couple of weeks.
The Wildcats will travel to Clay Battelle on Friday to take on the Cee Bee’s in one of the few High School games to be played on that night, due to the West Virginia Mountaineers and Marshall Thundering Herd College football game scheduled for the the same night.
Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
