Silver Knights Advance in Regional Play

The name of the game in March is win and advance and that is just what the Silver Knights did against Oak Glen in regional action on March 7 at the Castle with a 63-54 victory.
The Knights jumped out to a nine point lead after the first quarter and increased that to 34-18 by the break. The Silver and Black kept the pace alive leading by 15 headed to the fourth. Oak Glen would finally outscore the Knights 21-15 in the fourth but the Knights held on to preserve the victory.
Three Silver Knights hit double figures with Garrett Bordenkircher scoring a game high 22 points followed by Brody Giovinazzo with 15 and Cole Lemasters with 10. Zayden Hardbarger chipped in with seven and Austin Peck added five. High scoring Brady Strode was held to just four points but the Knights did not need his scoring to handle the Golden Bears.
The Knights got 21 points from the charity stripe as the Golden Bears would only hit six foul shots.
Next up on the road to Charleston is a tough one against rival Williamstown on the road at Williamstown on Wednesday, March 12, with a trip to the state finals on the line.
