Lady Knights Wrestling Finish 6th

The TCHS Lady Knights Wrestling team showcased their strength and determination at the prestigious 27 team Cornelius Godfrey Wrestling Tournament in Logan County on Friday, January 17th, battling fiercely to secure an impressive 6th place finish overall. Leading the charge was junior standout Eliana Winfrey, who dominated the competition by pinning every opponent on her path to claim the championship title. Junior Chole Dutton, who is also putting together a stellar season, added to the Lady Knights’ success with an impressive runner-up finish. Sophomore Camryn Westbrook delivered several clutch victories on her way to an impressive 4th place finish, while junior Arianna Hartline continued her strong season with a hard-fought 4th place finish of her own. Mariah King and Toni Thomas came within one match of placing, but both showcased their skill and determination with several impressive victories throughout the tournament.
Second year coach Eric McKeever is extremely proud of this group of athletes. “This group of girls are really working hard every day. We are building a nice little team here, and I can’t say enough how proud I am of each and every one of them. These girls amaze me every day and I hope they reap the benefits of the hard work.”
Tyler Consolidated Girls are being recognized across the state for their hard work as the 1st official ranking came out last week for the state of West Virginia. Several of the Lady Knights are ranked in the top 10 of their respective weight classes. Mariah King is ranked 9th, Arianna Hartline is ranked 8th, Eliana Winfrey is ranked 1st, Chloe Dutton is ranked 7th and Toni Thomas is ranked 8th. The Lady Knights are currently ranked 10th overall in the state of West Virginia among all classes.
The Lady Knights will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Buckhannon Upshur for a tournament then again next Wednesday when they travel to Parkersburg High for a Tri match.
