The Lumberjills were trying to get their second win in two days on Saturday as they traveled to Beavertown for a matchup with Frontier high school.

Valley was without their top scorer Laken Dawson who averages close to 20 a game and as a result points were hard to come by. The first quarter was all Frontier as the Lumberjills could only score two points both coming from the free throw line, while the Lady Cougars hit for 13 to take the early lead.

The second quarter was more of the same as the home team poured in 20 to the visitors three, making it 33-5 at the break.

The second half was much better for Valley as they held their own with18 points in the half while Frontier hit for 23. Leading the way for Valley was Carley Pittman who hit for 13 with 10 coming in the second half. Her point total included a trio of 3-pointers and 4-6 from the free throw line. Michaela Miller and Kennedi Dallison each added four points, while Elynn Derby and Aubree Mason both hit a free throw.

Frontier was led by Anna Bowersock with 13 and Willow Hartley with 12. Five other players added to their score total. Frontier hit 24 shots from the floor, including three 3-pointers and made 2-9 free throws. Valley hit six field goals including three 3’s and made 7-19 free throws.
