Lady Knights Win Tri-Match Versus Magnolia and Doddridge

The Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights Volleyball team continue to roll through their opponents with a tri-match sweep of Magnolia and Doddridge on Monday, September 9 at the Castle. The two wins improved the Knights record to 6-0. Even more impressive is the Lady Knights have not lost a set in the 2024 season.

The Lady Knights defeated Magnolia by the scores of 25-21 and 25-17. Kayli West was again impressive with one ace, seven kills, five points, one block,two digs and four assists. She was followed by Katie Grimm and Macie Highley. Grimm added one ace, four kills, five points and four digs while Highley chipped in with one ace, five kills, two points and two digs. Mya Fetty also came up big with three aces, nine points, two blocks and four digs. Michlynn Morris had one point and two digs. Juliana Lattea was strong around the net with seven kills and one block. Raylynn Heintzman continued her double digit assists with 19.

Tyler Consolidated continued their winning streak defeating Doddridge 25-7 and 25-17. Katie Grimm recorded double digits with 12 kills, 12 digs and three points. Raylynn Heintzman also hit double digits with 11 points, four aces, two digs and 22 assists. Kayli West remained strong adding three aces, six kills, five points, and five digs. Hailey Sandy chipped in with one kill, four points and five digs. The Lady Knights will hit the road on September 10 to take on Parkersburg Catholic.

Lady Knights Volleyball Sweeps Parkersburg Catholic

The Lady Knight Volleyball machine swept The Lady Crusaders in three sets by the scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-10. It was all Knights as they dominated with 13 or more point wins on the road. Leading the way was Katie Grimm with triple digit stats with 12 aces, 12 kills and 16 points. She was followed by Kayli West with two aces, six kills, seven points, three blocks and two digs. Raylynn Heintzman was again in double digits in assists with 20. Hailey Sandy was the leading point scorer with 16. The Knights will now face off with always strong Williamstown at the Castle on Thursday September 12.

Lady Knights Volleyball Suffers First Loss of the Year

The Lady Knights and Lady Yellow Jackets from Williamstown squared off on Thursday, September 12 at the Castle in what was one of the best matches so far this year between two very talented teams before a large crowd with the Knights falling just short in five sets. Set one went to the Knights by the score of 25-20. Williamstwon battled back in set two and three taking both 25-18 and 26-24. With their backs against the wall and needing a win the Lady Knights dug deep and pulled out set four 25-20 to force a deciding fifth set. Williamstown was able to hang on winning the final set 15-9 and handing the Knights their first loss of the season. Katie Grimm, Macie Highley and Kayli West led the Lady Knights. Grimm had one ace, 19 kills, nine points, one block and 12 digs. Highley was also strong with one ace, seven kills, six points one block, 15 digs and one assist. West chipped in with seven kills, eight points, 12 blocks and 10 digs. Alos contributing for the Knights was Hailey Sandy with four aces, 11 points and nine digs. Mya Fetty had seven points, one block, seven digs and two assists. Raylynn Heintzman added 18 digs and 25 assists. Michlynn Morris had three points, 11 digs and one assist. The Lady Knights will now hit the road for two matches against Bridgeport, Ohio on September 16 and Wirt County on September 19.
