Tyler Consolidated High School’s Marching Band competed in their third and final competition of the year on Saturday in Ripley. The Silver Knight Band competed as one of 15 High School bands participating in the VikingFest.

The Knights competed in the class A division at competition and brought home several impressive awards to Tyler County, including a first place award for their class.

Amanda Goodfellow captured first place as a soloist at the event.

Field Commander, Christine Keplinger brought home the third place trophy for best Field Commander; and the Knights percussion earned a third place award as well.

Of the 15 bands competing at the VikingFest, the Tyler Consolidated Marching Band placed fourth overall in the entire competition.

Cabell Midland High School took first place overall at the event, followed by George Washington High School in second and Princeton took third place.

Though the competition season is over for the band, their activities have not ended for the year. They will continue to perform at football games and in community parades.
