Harley Gail Stewart, 73, of Middlebourne, WV passed away peacefully Friday, April 24, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by loving family, and with the compassionate care of Journey Hospice.

A son of the late Georgie and Virgil F. Stewart, Harley was born November 25, 1952, in Tyler County, WV. Harley lived a life defined by service, commitment, and love for his family and community. A proud veteran, Harley served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, United States Army, and the Army Reserves, upholding the highest traditions and values of military service. His commitment to serving others extended from his military years to his civilian life, having served as a dedicated bus driver for Tyler County Schools. Prior to this role, he spent 7 years working in the coal mines, displaying the same diligence and hardworking spirit that he brought to every aspect of his life. He was a member of the Ripley Chapel Church, spent his life caring for and helping others, and brought a sense of community with him everywhere, which resulted in him never knowing a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, sisters, Eva Stackpole and Barb Simmons; and brothers, Ralph, Rodney, Virgil, and Randy Stewart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 33 years, Connie Lynn Stewart; his three children, Harley Gail Stewart Jr. (Savina), Hope LeeAnn Stewart, and Haley Nicole Stewart; brothers, Gary Stewart, Jerry Stewart (Sonya), and Calvin Stewart; sister, Pamela Powell; and his beloved dogs, Bella and Athos.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cancer Research Association in Harley’s honor.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home in Sistersville, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, and 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Myers, with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Middlebourne Cemetery with military honors.
