Jonathan Ray Pittman
Jonathan Ray Pittman, 91, of New Martinsville, WV left this world on Friday, January 10, 2025 while at the Arbors in Woodsfield, OH.
Jonathan was born April 26, 1933, in Paden City, WV son of the late George M. and Madeline L. (Malone) Pittman.
He was maintenance supervisor for Union Carbide, served in the U.S. Marines, member of the Wetzel Lodge No. A.F & A.M., NRA, Paden City American Legion Post 86, farmed for over seventy years with cattle and horses, former member of the Tyler County Athletic Boosters, founding member of Tyler County Saddle Club and member of the Paden City Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life Belle Pittman; infant son, Walter George Pittman; two sisters, Onalee Henthorne and Rosalie Forrester and brother, Stanley Pittman.
Surviving are his four children, Jon (Donna) Pittman of Woodbridge, VA, Andy (Michelle) Pittman of Paden City, WV, Martie Pittman and Joe (Stephanie) Pittman of Middlebourne, WV; eight grandchildren, Megan (Jeffery) Sprouse, J.R. (Christie) Pittman, Josh Pittman, Brooklyn (Drew) LeMasters, Trey Pittman, Keaghan Pittman, Alex Higgins and Mitchell Higgins; brother, Bruce (Sally) Pittman of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Kay (Roger) Goddard of Hagerstown, MD and Dot (Ronnie) Wilcox of Middlebourne, WV; five great grandchildren, Layla, Sadie, Morgan, Addie and Nolan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Jarvis Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Paden City Christian Church, 105 E Main St., Paden City, WV. At the conclusion of the funeral, the Honor Guard will conduct military rites in the church parking lot. Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City, WV.
