Marylin J. Thoburn, 85, of Paden City, WV took the next step on her journey on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at her home while surrounded by her family.

Marylin was born August 6, 1939, in Slicker, Tyler Co., WV daughter of the late Ray and Lacy Augusta (Pittman) Lauderman.

She was the Accounts Payable and Payroll clerk for the former Lauderman Oil & Gas Drilling. Family was very important to Marylin and any where her grandchildren were participating in athletic events you would find her there. She even delayed her 50th anniversary party to accommodate a last-minute change in a grandchild’s sporting event. She loved playing BINGO and Yahtzee and watching WVU sports. Marylin was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander “Bozy” Thoburn; four siblings, Mona and Russell Wetzel, Shirley Herbold, Andre and Robert Wetzel and Gerald Lauderman and a sister-in-law, Mona and Jack Oblinger.

Surviving are her children, Valerie (Rick) Heasley of Paden City, WV, Alex (Judy) Thoburn, III of Paden City, WV and Stephen Brent Thoburn of Williamstown, WV; six grandchildren, Anastasia Riley, Brittany (Ron Stanley) Heasley, Ashley (Cody) Watson, Chaz Heasley, Alexander Ryan (Amanda) Thoburn and Desiree (Eric) Daugherty; ten great grandchildren, Brendyn Blatt, Jaxon Blatt, Alex Riley, Braelynn Carroll, Kohen Blatt, Azalyah Riley, Keenan Daugherty, Romi Daugherty, Brooklyn Thoburn and Maisi Stanley; brother, Pete (Mary Jo) Lauderman of Paden City, WV; sister-in-law, Kim Lauderman; brother-in-law, Ernie Herbold and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 4-6 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Jarvis Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. Friends also received noon until time of service at 2 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024. Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City, WV.
