Katy Mae Koerber

Katy Mae Koerber, 90, of Paden City, WV left this world on Friday, August 11, 2023, while at Cherry Blossom in Columbus, OH. After her long battle with dementia, she is now at peace.

Katy was born July 11, 1933, in Hundred, WV daughter of the late William H. and Anna Jane (Roberts) Anderson.

She attended Magnolia High School, became a four-star thespian, and was Magnoliaás first of many to portray Emily Webb in the production of Our Town. This was her most proud accomplishment until her children. She also was in the National Honor Society, Miss Magnolia Day and attended WV Girls State.

She graduated from high school at the age of 16 and began working at PPG Industries the next day where she became Miss Natrium. She retired at the age of 62 as the longtime Executive Assistant to the Plant Manager.

She was most proud of and completely devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is described by those who know her as a class act, sweet, kind, big hearted, completely selfless, dedicated to her family and always had a smile and chocolate.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn A. Koerber (2017) and grandson, Robert L. Gatian II (2008)

Surviving are her three sons, Brent (Eric Walden) Koerber and Todd (Jeff Efaw) Koerber both of Columbus, OH and Kurt (Michael Nashwinter) Koerber of Cape Coral, FL; daughter, Krista (Rex) Boltz of Sardis, OH; three grandchildren, Aimee Gatian, Nathaniel (Jessica Henderson) Gatian and Misty (Ryan Lowe) Gatian; great grandchildren, Damien and Rydge Gatian, Taylor, Aliciti (Aaron), Jake, Cherokee, Lylah, Ireland, Easton, Draven and Legacy. Other special friends include Natasha Mazil and numerous Cherry Blossom and Capital City Hospice team members. Friends received 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville. Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the Griffin Players, the combined thespians of Magnolia HS troop 531 and Paden City HS troop 4892.
