As we near the end of October and draw closer to the holidays and all that they bring, let us be mindful of those in our community who are not as fortunate.

The state of the economy, sickness and unemployment have some of out neighbors worried about Thanksgiving, Christmas and how they are going to heat their homes when the snow starts flying this winter.

There are many charities within Tyler County who are willing to help those in need living in our community, including the Jaycees (A Child’s Christmas), the American Legion, the VFW and the Ministerial Association to name a few.

As you prepare to make your holiday’s bright and cheery, take a moment to consider helping a neighbor in need and make a charitable donation to a worthy cause.
