Couple Celebrates 70th Wedding Anniversary

Rev. Donald M. and Montana Thomas celebrate 70 years

Rev. Donald M. and Montana Thomas of Friendly (Tyler Co.) will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary at a open house at the Grange in Alma WV Sept. 11. The late Rev. Duncan married them on Sept. 14 1951. He is the Son of the late Thurman and Evelyn Thomas. He retired as a full time United Methodist minister in 1992. He has been ministering to churches in Tyler County since 1993 to the present.

She is the daughter of the late Peter and Merle Ash. She enjoys quilting and canning. They have four children and their spouses: Marvin and Dale Thomas of Hedgesville, Kathy and Ralph Herron of Fairmont, Darlene and Tom Marlowe of Gettysburg, and Peter and Angie Thomas of Barboursville.

They have 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Everett, Tiffany and Eric, Steve and Dawn, Todd, Victor and Bethany, Zachary and Danielle, Luke and Dianna, Seth and Abigail, Timmy and Brooklyn, and Matt. One granddaughter, Paige Thomas, is deceased. They also have 7 great children. Friends and relatives are invited through the press to an open house Sept 11 from 2-4pm at the Grange in Alma on Route 18.
