“The Marvelous Wonderettes” rescheduled to Feb. 18
Dan Henthorn, theater teacher at Magnolia and Paden City high schools, said the decision was made on Thursday in anticipation of the coming storm and the possibility Wetzel County Schools would be closed on Feb. 4.
Also, even attendance at a show on Feb. 5 would no doubt be adversely affected by travel concerns.
The community is encouraged to come to Magnolia High School on Feb. 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. to take in the comical and amusing musical performance as four teen girls in 1958 are faced with experiences and trials. The show will be staged in the school gymnasium to allow for social distancing. Masks will be required. General admission tickets are $8. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
This production includes many popular songs of yesteryear that will have attendees smiling and tapping their toes to the familiar tunes.
In the first act they sing and dance to popular songs of the 1950s such as “Mr. Sandman”, “Lollipop”, and “Dream Lover.” Act 2 takes place ten years later at the girl’s 10-year high school reunion.
