Local Farmers Market Hosts Annual Student Voucher Program

The weekly Tuesday Local Farmers Market in the Sistersville Park welcomed families, students, and community members for a special event as part of its Local Farmers Market Voucher Program.
Held under the large shelter from 4:30-6:30 p.m., the market distributed $20 vouchers to all students. These vouchers could be redeemed for fresh, locally grown items sold by participating vendors, but only on the day of the event, July 15. To receive the full benefit, students were required to complete their voucher and return it to the market manager.
The initiative is a collaboration between Tyler County Schools and the Local Farmers Market, aimed at encouraging healthy eating habits among students while supporting area farmers. The market continues to run every Tuesday throughout the summer, and organizers are inviting parents, students, and the broader community to attend and shop local.
“We want families to experience the value of fresh produce and support the hardworking farmers in our area,” said Taylor Rosenlieb, market manager.
Organizers extended a special thank-you to the Steely Community Fund for its generous support, which helps make the student voucher program possible year after year.
