Club, DNR to host Kids Fishing Day on May 7

The Tyler Rod and Gun Club along with the Law Enforcement Section of the state’s Division of Natural Resources has teamed up again to host special events this year.

The club is proud and honored to be sponsoring 16th annual “Kids Fishing Day” on May 7 at Conway Lake. The theme of the day will be “Hooked on fishing, not on drugs.” This will be a special day for youngsters between ages one to 15 years of age to become more aware of the enjoyment of fishing and natural resources in Tyler County. During the event, there will be discussion of how drugs can and will affect every aspect of a person’s life. Food and donated prizes will be awarded to every participant.

“Our goal is to make this fishing event enjoyable and exciting to everyone,” said Arnold Schoolcraft of the Tyler Road and Gun Club.
