Lady Pilots Down Silver Knights In Seventh Inning Comeback

The home standing Silver Knights took an early 6-1 lead over River on Friday evening May 1, in Kidwell, but couldn’t hold on as the visiting Lady Pilots plated five runs in the top of the seventh to nip the Knights 10-9.

River got a run in the top of the first inning, but the Lady Knights came back strong in the second with four runs and added another in the third to take the lead 5-1. Both teams added a pair in the fourth and fifth innings making it 9-5 Tyler. Neither team scored in the sixth, however the Lady Pilots came up big in the top of the seventh with five runs to get the win.

Both teams had their bats working as River hammered out 13 hits, while the Silver Knights collected 12. River committed two errors to one for Tyler.

Cyla Winkler ended with three hits and knocked in a run. Ava Wohnhas added two hits and scored a pair of runs. Brianna Wiley added two hits, two RBI’s, and scored a run. Mallarie Mady had a hit, scored twice and knocked in a run. Jayda Kinney-Blair had a hit, an RBI, and scored a run.

Wohanhas picked up the win for the Pilots going 4.0 innings in relief. She gave up five hits, four runs (three earned), walked three batters, and struck out nine. Mallarie Maddy threw the first three innings allowing seven hits, five runs (four earned), walked one, and struck out two.

Tyler was led at the plate by Holly Johnson, Isabella Murray, Macey Shuman, and Mykaylia Torman with two hits each. Johnson had three RBI’s and scored a run.

Isabella Pratt took the loss going the distance and giving up 13 hits, 10 runs (nine earned), walking three and striking out two.

The Silver Knights fell to 8-17 with the loss, while the Lady Pilots improved to 16-5 on the season.
