Gary Arthur Sole

On Tuesday, July

15, 2025, Gary Arthur

Sole, 77, of Middlebourne,

WV, passed

away at his home with

his brother, Darrell at

his side. Gary, who

was the son of Arthur

and Jerle (Fiber) Sole,

was raised and lived

his entire life just outside

of Middlebourne,

in his beloved community

of Lone Tree.

Gary was baptized

into the Church of

Christ and held a

strong faith which he

leaned on during his

illness. He was a 1966

graduate of Tyler

County High School in

Middlebourne. Following

high school, he

was employed by

Cytec Industries where

he retired on January

1, 2009, after 39

years with the company. For the final 10

Years of his employment

he served as a

logistics site operator.

Gary’s passions included

farming, investing,

and collecting

A m e r i c a n – m a d e

glassware. He enjoyed

his almost daily visits

with his friends in

New Martinsville and

lunches at Choo

Choo’s Restaurant. He

was an active member

of Moose Lodge #931

and the American Legion

in New Martinsville.

Gary’s constant

companions were his

dog, Rose, and his

three cats, Pretty Boy,

Harry, and Bashful.

He is survived by:

his daughter Lisa

(James) Cox of Rutherfordton,

NC; a brother,

Darrell Sole of

Middlebourne, WV; a

sister, Karen (Tom)

Wolf of Plano, TX; 3

Grandsons (Michael,

Joseph, and Cris);

several Great

Grandchildren, including

Willow, 1 Niece

(Jenna), and 2

Nephews (James and

Daniel). He was preceded

in death by his

brother, Gregg, who

passed in 1978.

located in Sistersville,

WV, or your local

animal shelter. A

celebration of life will

be announced in the

near future.
