Calling all sisters to leave their worries behind and join your sister-friends at the most magical place on earth! There’s always something new and exciting to see whenever “Dizney” gets involved, and this year’s Sisters Fest is no different! Organizers of the much-loved event encourage you to escape from the real world into the land of fantasy you have dreamed of going to since childhood and bring your favorite sisters with you!

The theme of the 25th Sisters Fest is DIZNEY and will be held Friday, March 15th and Saturday, March 16th with the Elks Club once again serving as the headquarters located at 333 Charles Street. This fan-favorite festival in historic Sistersville celebrates women.

While the weekend highlights sisters, like the Wells sisters who established Sistersville, the event is for all women-sisters and “sisterfriends” as they are often called at Sisters Fest. So, if you don’t have a sister, bring your friend, mother or come alone; you will leave with more “sisters” than you could ever imagine!

With numerous planned events for the weekend, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in as many or few as they choose. Many events will be held upstairs in the ballroom of the Elks. The Elks Lodge has once again extended an invitation for all attendees to frequent their bar area on Friday and Saturday night.

The fun begins on Friday night, March 15th at 7:00 p.m. with an Appetizer and Dessert Contest. Participating sisters are asked to bring an appetizer or dessert to share in the contest. Each food entered gets the cook automatically signed up to participate in a drawing for a $25 prize. Attendees will taste and vote for their favorites. Categories include Best Dessert, Best Appetizer, or Best Theme (a dessert or appetizer that best represents this year’s theme, DIZNEY.)

Following at 8:00 p.m. will be the DIZNEY Trivia Game. Participants will be challenged questioning just how much they know about Dizney. Sisters are encouraged to put their wits to the test and possibly win a prize. If there is more than one 1st place winner, the event will go to sudden death.

Saturday begins a full day of activities starting with the favorite “How Well Do You Know Your Sister” at 9:00 a.m. at the Elks Ballroom. In this laughter-filled event the women pair off to answer questions about their sisters or “sisterfriends” in a style very similar to The Newlywed Game.

A new event this year is at 10:30 a.m. Sisters Fest Historical Homes Tour. This is an optional event and open to the public. Tickets are required for entry and can be purchased from the Sisters Fest officials at the Elks club on Friday night. Tickets for the home tours are $10. Homes featured will be the E.A. Durham house built in 1921 and the McKay Miller house built in 1884. Both homes are listed on the National Register of historic places.

Lunch will be offered once again this year at the First Baptist Church in Sistersville and served by the Sistersville Lions Club. Cost is $12.

Bingo will run from 2:00 till 3:00 at the Elks for any interested players followed by a Paint ‘n Sip held at the Golden Derrick Gallery (yellow doors beside the theater) in downtown Sistersville from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sisters are reminded they must provide their own beverage to sip. Cost for this fun event is $25 and pre registration is required.

Finally, at 5:00 p.m. the banquet will begin. The cost for a banquet ticket is $16 and will feature two selections.

Although you can wait to register at the door, keep in mind events may be filled.
