TCHS Volleyball has Up and Down Week

Silver Knight Offense Ready to Attack

After a busy week the TCHS JV team won both of their matches against Liberty and Williamstown. The Varsity squad lost three straight sets to Liberty but rebounded to beat LKC opponent Parkersburg Catholic in three sets. The Varsity squad played a third match on Thursday against Williamstown and lost the first two sets and a close third set 24-26. “Both squads still have some work to do,” said second year Head Coach Chris Bachman.

The Tyler Consolidated Varsity Volleyball team lost in straight sets to Liberty of Clarksburg on Monday September 11 by the scores of 13-25, 18-25 and 25-27. The Lady Knights came out stronger in the third set and lost a close on by two points. Katie Grimm had four aces, five points, six kills and one block. She was followed by Braeden Wall with one ace, six points, four kills and one block, Mya Fetty had one ace and eight points. Kayli West chipped in with one point, four kills and one block. Lady Knight JV came away with a straight set victory.

The next night the varsity met up with LKC foe Parkersburg Catholic and rebounded with straight set victory 25-12, 25-8 and 25-12 to improve their record to 4-3. Braeden Wall lit up the stat sheet with 11 kills, 11 points, nine digs, five aces, three blocks and two assists. Katie Grimm added 13 digs, 10 points, four aces and four kills. Mya Fetty charted 14 assists, five points, and three digs. Macie Highley finished with 10 digs, six points, and three aces.

On Thursday September 14 the Lady Knights traveled to two time defending Class A state champion Williamstown and were sweep by the home standing Yellowjackets 14-25, 18-25 and 24-26. The Lady Knights did not quit as they battled tooth and nail in the third set only to come up two points short. Standouts for Tyler included Braeden Wall who had 13 kills, seven digs, three points and seven assists. Katie Grimm, who had six kills two digs, three blocks for aces and six points. Mya Fetty had four Digs, Jules Lattea contributed with two kills and six blocks. Alexis Livingston had two kills and six blocks. The TCHS JV won their match against Willimstown in straight sets.

The Lady Knights will next be in action on Tuesday September 19 when they hit the road again to match up with Wood County Christian scheduled to start at 6:00.
