TCHS Lady Knights Advance to Championship of the Boggs Classic

The Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights opened the Boggs Classic with a 44-20 victory over Valley on Thursday night January 13 at Kidwell. A tough Silver Knight defense held the Lumberjills to only four field goals in the game. Tyler led at halftime 23-9 and and kept the heat on defensively in the second half. Juliana Lattea led the victors with 13 points, supported by 11 from Havana Lemasters and eight from Braeden Wall. Winter Higgins lead Valley with five points. Tyler advanced to play Doddridge County in the Championship game of the Boggs Classic on Saturday at 1 pm.

Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights lost in the finals of the Boggs Classic to the Doddridge County Lady Bulldogs by the score of 36-33 on Saturday, January 15 at Kidwell.

The game was close throughout and in the final minute with the score tied Doddridge managed a turnover and breakaway layup for a three point play that put them ahead by six with 15 seconds to go.

Tyler came back and hit a three pointer to pull the score within three, and with nine seconds to play the Silver Knights attempted to foul on the inbounds pass but no call was made and Doddridge ended up running out the clock for the win. Tyler was led in scoring by Breaden Wall with 11 points and Lauren Templeton with 8. Caleigh Phillips contributed 5 points and had several steals to keep the game close.

Phillips Leads TCHS Lady Knights Over Wirt County

Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights jumped out to a quick 14-3 1st quarter lead and 28-8 halftime lead on Wirt County on Tuesday, January 11 and went on to a 44-31 victory over the Lady Tigers. The Silver Knights were led in scoring by Caleigh Phillips with 15 points, including three 3 point baskets, followed by Lauren Templeton with 11 and Braeden Wall with nine, including two 3 pointers.

In JV action Tyler Consolidated defeated the Lady Tigers in a close one by the score of 40 to 32. Trinity Kanz led all scorers with a game high 19 points.

The Lady Knights Varsity next play in the Boggs Classic versus Valley on Thursday night January 13.
