LKC Middle School Cross Country Championships Held Recently

On Thursday October 7, the Little Kanawha Conference athletic conference cross country Middle School championship was held at Doddridge County Park.

In the boys division 48 runners from nine school took part in the event. Winning the championship was Doddridge Middle School with a team score of 22. Tyler Consolidated finished fifth overall with a team total of 116 points.

The first place individual runner was eighth grader Silas Carter from Doddridge County with a time of 10:26.16.Tyler Consolidated eighth grader Amos Kimble came in second with a time of 10:39.97. They were the only two under 11 minutes. Doddridge runners claimed the third, fourth and fifth spots.

The Silver Knights next finisher was seventh grader Kellan Dalrymple with a 12:04.32 time good for 20th. Sixth grader Jacob Keller finished 33rd with a time of 14:40.45. Next in for the Knights was sixth grader Malakhi Davis with a 15:04.14 good for 35th. Caleb Gist came in 36th as the seventh grader ran a time of 15:22.95. Sixth graders Liam Conner and Griffin Glover closed out the Knights scoring with times of 16:56.36 and 17:21.14.

In the girls division 48 girls from nine schools participated with Pleasants County middle school winning with 28 points. The Silver Knights finished second with 60 points. Top individual runner was Anna Bennett of Pleasants County with a time of 11:20.39/ Silver Knights Maddy Cox was the first Silver Knight to cross the line as the seventh grader came in sixth with a 12::37.44. Seventh grader Lily Dillaman finished 12th with a time of 13:10.47.

The Knights took the 18th, 19th and 20th spots with seventh grader Camryn Westbrook running a 14:05.70, sixth grader Andi Fiber running a 14:09.45 and eighth grader Lily Haught running a 14:15.38. Jahna Brown a seventh grafer came in 23rd with a time of 14:27.41.

Rounding out the Knights scoring was seventh grader Olivia Roberts with a time of 19:01.48, sixth grader Heaven Pittman with a time of 19:29.25 and Zoe Fisher with a time of 32:20.70.
