The Lady Knights Walk Off Lowell

The Lady Knights continued their undefeated summer league schedule facing off with Lowell, Ohio at home on July 16 and pulled off an 11-10 victory in the quarterfinals of the 15 team Pioneer Marietta/Parkersburg summer league championships. Going 6-0 in the regular season play, the Knights drew a number one seed and will host their first two games in the playoffs.

In the quarterfinal game the Knights fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning to Lowell, Ohio but the Silver Knights rallied to score six runs in the bottom of the first to take a 6-2 lead. However, Lowell was not done, scoring five runs in the fourth to tie the game at seven and would add three more headed to the bottom of the seventh. Tied headed to the bottom of the seventh the Knights received a lead off hit from Azzy Henthorn and eventually loaded the bases. Arianna Henthorn stepped to the plate and delivered a single to score Azzy with the winning run.

The Lady Knights will now face Warren High School at Knights field in the semi-finals next Tuesday, July 21 at 6:30 with the winner advancing to the finals.
