SCC Releases Summer Golf Schedule
Golfers will have plenty of opportunities to hit the links this season as Sistersville Country Club has unveiled a packed 2026 tournament schedule featuring charity outings, club championships, school fundraisers and community events stretching from spring through early fall.
The tournament season got underway April 18 and has already featured several successful events at the local course.
On May 5, Sistersville Country Club welcomed the WVGA Rookie League, showcasing young golfers and helping promote the future of the game. The course also hosted the Young Life outing, while Heritage Federal Credit Union drew a full field for its tournament on May 15.
One of the area’s popular annual events, the Sistersville Alumni Golf Outing, was unfortunately canceled because of rain.
The busy summer calendar continues June 13 with the Sistersville Methodist Church outing. That event will be followed by the Sistersville Country Club Men’s Club Championship, scheduled for June 27-28, where members will compete for club bragging rights and championship honors.
On July 28, the Bill Stewart Outing will return to the course. The event raises money for local charities as well as a scholarship benefiting a senior player in the Fairmont State University football program.
High school athletics will also benefit from the season’s schedule as the Tyler Consolidated High School Golf Team hosts its annual scramble on Aug. 1.
Veterans and civic organizations will take their turn on the course later in the summer. The VFW’s annual tournament is set for Aug. 15, followed by the New Martinsville Rotary outing on Aug. 22.
September remains one of the busiest months on the calendar. The TCHS Alumni Tournament will tee off Sept. 5, followed by the St. Marys Elks Lodge outing on Sept. 12. Traditionally held at St. Marys Golf Club, the Elks event will feature a venue change this year, bringing the tournament to Sistersville Country Club.
Marietta Memorial Hospital’s outing is scheduled for Sept. 18.
Closing out the 2026 tournament season will be the always popular Chili Open, sponsored by the SHS Alumni Association, on Oct. 3. Known for its full field of golfers, generous cash prizes, raffle giveaways and unlimited chili and hot dogs, the Chili Open continues to be one of the area’s signature golf events.
With a schedule filled with competitive play, community fundraisers and opportunities to support local organizations, Sistersville Country Club once again promises a strong summer golf season for players across the Mid-Ohio Valley.
