The Silver Knights Impress at 2A Track Regionals
Amos Kimble wins three distance races at Regionals
The Region 2A Track and Field Championships were held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Doddridge County High School with six schools participating. In the girls division Williamstown was the overall winner with 183 points, while Tyler Consolidated finished second with 142 points, followed by Doddridge Co., Weirton, Oak Glen, and Ravenswood. In the boys divisionDoddridge County was the winner with 228 points, Williamstown was second with 134 points, and Tyler Consolidated finished third with 122 points. Weirton was fourth followed by Oak Glen and Ravenswood.
The Silver Knights received a big win in the 100 meter dash as Kathryn Grimm took first place with a time of 13.27. Teammate Andi Fiber was fourth with a time of 13.52.
In the 200 meter dash Fiber came in second with a time of 27.30, and Grimm was third with a time of 27.70. Both runners advanced to the state championships on Friday and Saturday in both races.
In the 400 meter dash the Silver Knights Ayo Buerger finished fourth with a time of 1:03.18 to get an at large bid in the event at state.
Tyler’s Lily Haught placed fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:34.56 to receive an at large bid to Charleston. The Silver Knights Addison Blosser came in fourth in the 100 meter high hurdles with a time of 17.33 to get an at large bid for state. Eliana Winfrey also got an at large bid to state with fourth place finish in the 300 meter lows with a time of 53.16 for a trip to Charleston. Teammate Imary Snider will also make the trip to Charleston after finishing fifth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 54.25.
The Silver Knights came up big in the 4×100 meter relay winning the event with a time of 51.70 from a team of Winfrey, Fiber, Blosser, and Grimm to advance to the state meet.
The Knights 4×200 meter relay team will go to Charleston with an at large bid after coming in fifth with a time of 1:57.98 from a team of Octavia Studenic, Ralynn Heintzman, Tiauna Mathis, and Katie Householder.
In the 4×400 meter relay the Knights came in fourth with a time of 4:29.77 from a team of Heintzman, Jayden Anderson, Winfrey, and Buerger, to get an at large bid to state.
The Silver Knights 4×800 meter relay team placed fourth with a time of 12:14.19 from a team of Mya Fetty, Amber Ebert, Zoey Smith, and Lily Haught and will head to state as well.
The 4×102.5 meter shuttle hurdle team from Tyler placed fourth in the event with a time of 1:13.38 from a team of Householder, Snider, Studenic, and Blosser.
In the high jump the Silver Knights Ayo Buerger won the event with a jump of 5-00.00 to earn her place at the state meet. The Knights will send two other high jumpers to state with Kathryn Grimm tying for second place with a jump of 4-10.00, while Katie Householder will move on to state after finishing fourth with a jump of 4-10.
In the Pole Vault the Knights Ralynn Heintzman finished as runnerup clearing the bar at 10-00.00. Jayden Anderson will also go to state in the event after finishing sixth with a vault of 7-06.00 to get an at large bid.
In the long jump Addison Blosser went 14-08.25 for fifth place to get an at large bid to state. Teammate Anna Sapozhnyk finished sixth with a leap of 14-07.00 to get a bid.
The Knights Buerger came in fifth in the shot put with a toss of 32-05.50 to receive an at large bid to state. Zoe Fisher came in seventh in the discus throw with a throw of 98-01 to receive an at large bid to the state meet.
The Silver Knights distance ace Amos Kimble took first place in all three of his individual races winning the 800 meter run in a time of 2:02.33, the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:36.26, and the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:58.02 to grab high point honors for the meet and a spot in all three races at Charleston. Travi Moore, the Silver Knights junior distance runner, also earned a spot in all three races in this Friday and Saturday’s state meet in Charleston. Moore came in seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:06.98 for an at large bid, while finishing second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:37.68, and second in the 3200 run with a time of 10:14.69. Body nice got an at large bid in the 1600 and 3200 meter races with times of 4:52.64 and 10;30.29.
In the 110 high hurdles the Knights Kellan Dalrymple came in fourth with a time of 16.52 and third in the 300 meter lows with a time of 44.31 to get an at large bid to state in both events.
Tyler’s 4×100 meter relay team of Jacob Henderson, Jonathan Kelly, Maddox Corley, and Gideon Winfrey finished fifth with a time of 46.31 to get a bid to state. The same team came in third in the 4×200 meter relay with a time of 1:35.48 to get an at large bid to the state meet.
The Silver Knights 4×400 meter relay team of Henderson, Corley, Kelly, and Kayden Utt finished fourth in the event with a time of 3:45.76 for an at large bid to state.
The Knights 4×800 meter relay team of Utt, Moore, Nice, and Kimble took the top spot in the event with a time of 8:45.76 to earn their way to the state meet.
Tyler’s 4X110 meter shuttle hurdle team finished second with a time of 1:05.17 from a team of Winfrey, Bryce Nichols, Rogan Post, and Dalrymple, to earn a spot in the state meet.
Gideon Winfrey came in sixth in long jump with a leap of 19-05.25 to get an at large bid to state.
Garrett Bordenkircher and Israel Gideon both advanced to state with at large bids in the shot put. With tosses of 42-08.50 and 41-05.00. Winfrey will also go down state in the discus throw with a sixth place throw of 128-08.
