Knights Down #5 Ranked Cameron
The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights played host to the Number 5 ranked Cameron Dragons in baseball action on Tuesday, May 12 and came away with an upset win by the score of 4-1. Reese Davis was strong on the mound going the distance striking out three while keeping the Dragons bats silent only allowing three hits. Trailing 1-0 after five innings the Knights offense came alive scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the deal. Led by Brayden Neff and Grady Shortridge both going two for three with Neff scoring one run while Shortridge picked up an RBI. Brennon Miller would add one hit and two RBI’s. Landon Boggs, Ashton Morris and Sawyer Kunkle each chipped in with one hit apiece.
“We told the kids before the game we scheduled good teams all through the schedule in order to prepare for the regional tournament that starts on May 18. We are playing our best baseball of the season right now with a couple comeback wins in a row. Proud of the effort and hard work the kids bring everyday. Our 11 freshmen have really grown quickly and gotten better,” said Head Coach Rob Jones.
