Silver Knights Impressive at LKC Championships

Kimble wins three events to end as the meets top scorer

The Little Kanawa Conference Track Championships were held on Friday, May 8, at Roane County High School with 18 schools participating and nearly 300 athletes.

Tyler Consolidated sent a talented group of runners and field event athletes to the meet and came away with some very good results leading up to the regional and state track meets.

In the women’s division The Silver Knights Kathryn Grimm finished in third place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.04. Teammate Andi Fiber came in fifth in the scoring with a time of 13.48. Grimm then finished fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.58, and Fiber finished fifth with a time of 27.98.

The Silver Knights Ayo Buerger ended seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.63. The Knights Addison Blosser came in second in the 100 meter high hurdles with a time of 16.83.

In the 4×100 meter relay Tyler finished second with a time of 51.55 from a team of Eliana Winfrey, Andi Fiber, Addison Blosser, and Kathryn Grimm. The Silver Knights 4×200 meter relay team finished third with a time of 1:55.95 from a team of Octavia Studenic, Ralynn Heintzman, Tiauna Mathis, and Katie Householder. In the 4×400 meter relay the Knights finished third with a time of 4:34.03 from a team of Eliana Winfrey, Ralynn Heintzman, Jayden Anderson, and Ayo Buerger. The Silver Knights 4×800 meter relay team came in eighth with a time of 12:17.64 from a team of Mya Fetty, Amber Ebert, Zoey Smith, and Lily Haught.

Tyler’s Shuttle Hurdle team of Katie Householder, Imary Snider, Octavia Studenic, and Addison Blosser finished third with a time of 1:12.49.

In the shot put Ayo Buerger finished third with a heave of 33-10. Teammate Zoe Fisher took fifth in the discus with a throw of 106-3.

The Silver Knights Kathryn Grimm won the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-0. Teammate Ayo Buerger took third place with a jump of 4-10. The Knights Katie Householder also scored in the event with a jump of 4-8 good for sixth place. The Silver Knights got a big pole vault from Ralynn Heintzman clearing the bar at 10-0 for second place and a personal best. Teammate Jayden Anderson also has a PR with a vault of 7-6 to place sixth in the event. In the long jump Tyler got a sixth place finish from Anna Sapozhnyk with a leap of 14-7.

In the men’s division the Silver Knights Amos Kimble took the top spot in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.39. He won his second event of the evening in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:30.67. Right on his heels was teammate Travis Moore who finished second in a time of 4:31.62. However, they weren’t finished as the duo came in first and second in the 3200 meter run. Kimble won his third event of the day to finish with 30 points as he crossed the finish line with a time of 9:31.86. Moore was next in the field of runners with a time of 10:13.72.

Tyler took sixth place in the 4×100 meter relay with a time of 46.20 from a team of Jacob Henderson, Jonathan Kelly, Maddox Corley, and Gideon Winfrey. The same team finished fifth in the 4×200 meter relay in a time of 1:36.77. The Silver Knights 4×400 meter relay team of Henderson, Kelly, Corley, and Kayden Utt came in Seventh with a time of 3:49.14.

The Knights 4×800 meter relay team of Utt, Moore, Brody Nice, and Kimble finished fourth in a time of 8:38.17.

Tyler’s Garrett Bordenkircher finished sixth in the shot put with a heave of 42-7.5. The Silver Knights Gideon Winfrey came in third in the long jump with a leap of 20-3.
