In baseball action on Friday April 3 the Silver Knights traveled to Williamstown to take on the Yellowjackets and fell by the score of 6-3. The Silver Knights bats were slow to get started and after four innings trailed the Yellowjackets 5-0. The Knights finally got on the board in the sixth with runners on the corner when the Knights executed a hit and run as Sawyer Kunkle grounded to the shortstop, sending Landon Boggs, who had doubled earlier in the inning, home from third base. Williamstown answered in the bottom of the sixth scoring one run. Reese Davis sent one over the left field fence for a two run home run in the top of the seventh to pull the Knights within three. Williamstown pitcher Wyatt Powell ended the comeback after giving up the home run striking out the final TCHS batter to secure the victory.

At the plate the Knights were led by Brayden Neff going two for four scoring one run, Reese Davis one for two and two RBI’s on the home run, Landon Boggs one for four and double scoring one run, Ashton Morris one for three, Brennon Miller one for two and Sawyer Kunkle one for three.

The Knights will now head to Myrtle Beach for their annual trip to the Mingo Bay Classic, now called the South Atlantic Bank Invitational, where they will take on three teams from New York and one from North Carolina. “We will face some stiff competition in Myrtle Beach and with 11 freshmen out of 17 players will have our work cut out for us,” said head coach Rob Jones.
