It was an emotional night for coaches, players, parents and fans at the Castle on Wednesday February 9 as the Tyler Consolidated Lady Silver Knights honored their Seniors. Five girls were playing their last home game for the Knights. Caleigh Phillips, Landry Buchanan, Lauren Templeton, Brianna Templeton and Anna Vollmer were all presented with flowers, ballons and gift bags for their service over the last four years.
One Senior, Anna Vollmer, and exchange student from Germany was playing her only year of basketball. Following graduation Anna will return to Germany to finish her high school career.
Playing inspired basketball the Lady Knights held their own through the game but in the end fell to Ritchie County by the score of 41-34.
The Knights held a halftime lead of 21-14 but a big second half by the Lady Rebels led to the loss. Ritchie County came out hot in the second half outscoring the Knights 14-6 in the 3rd period and 13-7 in the 4th period to secure the victory.
Leading the way for Tyler was Juliana Lattea scoring 15 points followed by Caleigh Phillips with six and Breaden Wall with 5. Ritchie County was led by Sophie Nelson who scored a game high 16 points.
