After several cancellations due to the weather the Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights Boys Basketball team finally got back in action on Friday, January 21 when they hosted Williamstown. The Knights battled hard but fell to the Yellow Jackets by the score of 60-47.

The Silver Knight’s were able to stay in the game after falling behind by a score of 16-7 at the end of the first quarter but closed to within six 25-19 at halftime. Williamstown used a big second half to pull away and claim victory. “Williamstown is an outstanding program with a winning tradition. I was proud of the boys for fighting hard and never giving up. If a few possessions down the stretch would have gone our way and the result could have been different,” said Coach Nutter

Tyler Consolidated only managed four players scoring points while Williamstown was led by a balanced attack which saw nine different players score for the Yellow Jackets. The Silver Knight’s were led by Connor Bailey with 20 points followed by Caleb Strode with 17 and Haygen Baker chipped in with eight. Brody Seckman finished with two points for the Knights. Williamstown had two players in double figures with Gavin Bosgraf scoring 17 and Alex Irvin adding 15 points.

Tyler Consolidated will host Clay Battelle on January 26 followed by another home game against rival Magnolia on January 31.
