Tyler Consolidated Hosts Boggs Roundball Classic

Tyler Consolidated had 12 players enter the scoring column as the Silver Knight’s pummeled Parkersburg Catholic by the final score of 94 to 39. Tyler had three players in double figures led by Caleb Strode with 26 points and 10 rebounds followed by Brody Seckman and Haygen Baker each with 11 points. The Silver Knights pulled down 36 rebounds and dished out 28 assists with Conner Bailey and Caleb Strode each with six assists. The Knights also had 12 steals led by Gannon Broughman with three. Also scoring for the Knights was Brady Strode five points, Conner Bailey four points, Zade Billings seven points, Gannon Broughman nine points, Zach Morris six points, Brayden Tallman seven points,Carson Gorby four points, Sage Landis four points and Owen Westbrook with two.
The other semi final game of the Boggs Classic saw James Monroe defeat Valley Wetzel by the score of 92 to 41.
The consolation game to be played on Saturday, January 15 will feature Valley versus Parkersburg Catholic at 3pm and the championship game will be Tyler Consolidated versus James Monroe at 5pm.

Tyler Consolidated Silver Knight’s Boys Basketball ran into a strong opponent, James Monroe, the Number 2 ranked team in Class A in the state on Saturday, January 15 in the finals of the Boggs Classic. James Monroe proved they deserved the ranking as they defeated the Knights 81-47. The Knights were never able to gain a rhythm and fell behind early by the score of 23-6 after the first period and 44-22 at halftime. It did not get any better in the second half as James Monroe outscored the home team 37-25 to claim the Championship.
Leading the Silver Knights was Caleb Strode with 21 points and Conner Bailey with 12.
Haygen Baker added 8 points for the game.
James Monroe had four players in double figures with Eli Allan leading the way with 23 points and Shad Sauvage with 19.
The Silver Knights will need to re-group quickly as they next travel to take on an always tough Ravenswood team coached by Mick Price on Wednesday, January 19.
Strode Leads Tyler Consolidated to Victory over Wirt County
TCHS Boys Basketball traveled to Wirt County on Wednesday January 12 to take on the Tigers. After a close first half ending in a tie at 14 apiece, Tyler used a big second half to outscore the Tigers 35-25 to finish with a 51-37 victory.
Caleb Strode again led all scorers with 17 points including two 3 pointers followed by Haygen Baker with 14 points and Carson Gorby with six.
As a team Tyler pulled down 33 rebounds led by Strode with nine. Connor Bailey had five assists and Caleb Strobe had three steals
In JV action the Silver Knights defeated Wirt 56-30. Leading scorer for Tyler was Garon Broughman with 15 points.
