TCHS Runners Compete at Cabell Midland High School
Tyler Consolidated boys cross country had four runners in the giant St. Mary’s Medical Center Cross Country Festival held at Cabell Midland High School on Saturday. Scoring for the Knights was Haygen Baker who finished 15th overall among the 126 runners from 23 different schools in Class A-AA.
Baker covered the course in a time of 18:09.62. Also finishing the course for the Knights was freshman Jaden Ebert who came in 31st with a time of 18:52.35. He was followed by Mason Nichols with a 23:16.60 and Haydon Ammons with a time of 24:23.60.
Winning the meet in the boys division was Winfield high school with 35 points.
In the girls division the Silver Knights Emily Ebert was the Knights top finisher with a time of 25:02.19 for 55th among the 111 runners from all schools. Following Ebert was freshman Anna Volmer with a time of 25:52.40 and Trinity Kanz who came in at 26:08.79. Kashia Brown of the Knights came in with a time of 28:21.74 to round out the Knights scoring.
Winning the meet for the girls teams was Doddridge County with 54 points.
Silver Knights Middle School Cross Country Runner wins first overall at Mountaineer Middle School Invitational
Tyler Consolidated Middle School distance runner Amos Kimble an 8th grader showed up big on Saturday at the Mountaineer Middle School Invitational. He competed against 61 runners and came away as the top finisher in a time of 13:05.66. His effort beat out West Fairmont 8th grader Josiah Brannen who covered the course in 13;19.33.
Teams from 12 different schools showed up to compete for the the top spot with Lincoln Middle School coming away as the team winner. Kimble, however outclassed the field with his effort as he outraced Brannen to the finish line. Only the top two were under 14:00 with Kimble flirting with the under 13:00 mark. He looks to be the real thing for the Silver Knights program as he heads to high school next season.
