C.f.c Baseball Camp To Be Held September 4
The first annual C.F.C Baseball Camp and High School Showcase will be held on September 4, 2021, at West Liberty University, 208 University Drive, West Liberty, WV 26074.
The camp will be hosted by; Justin Fox (WVU), Luke Cooper (WLU), and Brian Campbell (WLU).
Registration Fee will be $30 at camp check-in: Camp will be from 10AM-12PM for Ages 6-13, Each athlete ages 6-13 will receive a t-shirt with awards given out at the end!
High School camp will be from 12:30PM- 3PM for Ages 14-18, College Programs will be in attendance and athletes will be put through a series of workouts.
Colleges committed to the camp inclued West liberty University, Wheeling University, West Virginia Wesleyan, Franciscan University, with several more expected to join in. Questions?? Email Abcampbell@westliberty.edu
Luke Cooper: Cooper has played the game of baseball his whole life. Was a 4-year starter at Paden City High School from the year of 2012-2016. Played one year of legion baseball for Post 79 out of St. Mary’s in 2014 under Coach Wirt Cook. Following his four years at Paden City, Luke went on to play four years under Coach Eric Burkle at West liberty from 2017-2021. Following his graduation, he has become a history teacher at Paden City High School, where he was the assistant baseball coach for the team this year. (2021).
Brian “Soup” Campbell: Campbell played 4 years of travel baseball with the Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs and Wheeling Pirates under coaches Frank Merigliano (Chicago White Sox), Ryan Flanagan (Minnesota Twins), and Scott Shaw. He was a four-year varsity starter for Wheeling Central Catholic under coaches Jimbo Wodusky and Jamie Conlin. He was also a 2-year varsity starter for American Legion Wheeling Post 1 under head coach Mark Delbrugge. He was able to help Wheeling Post 1 win two state championships in 2015 and 2016. He went on to play 4 years under Eric Burkle at West Liberty University from 2017-2021.
Justin “Tank” Fox: Fox lettered and played all 4 years at Magnolia High School under Dave Cisar. He was elected captain of the All-State Class-AA team in baseball and football, as well as the OVAC Class-AAA in baseball and football during his senior year. From 2012-2015 he went on to play college baseball at WVU in the big east under Greg Van Zant then the next three under college coach Randy Mazey in the Big 12. In 2015 he hit the first walk off at the new stadium at WVU. After graduating college, he went on to play in the Frontier Independent league in Chicago for the Rockford Aviators in 2015. After the franchise shut down, he then played at the Washington Wild Things in 2016.
Youth groups and high school baseball enthusiasts won’t want to miss this exciting baseball camp. There will be plenty of action and lots of skill training for ball players to build on. High School coaches and parents of young ball players are encouraged to send their kids to this camp where they will meet some of the area’s best players from the past who are willing to pass on the things most youth need to be successful in the sport.
