Silver Stars 17U Fall in the Bottom of Seventh

The Tyler Silver Stars Varsity, 17U, dropped a close one in the bottom of the seventh-inning to Doddridge County on Wednesday, June 23 by the score of 4-3. Owen Westbrook took a loss for the Silver Stars. Westbrook went 3 1/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits and striking out three. Carson Gordy started the game for the Silver Stars. The right hander worked three innings allowing two runs and two hits, striking out four and walking one. Mason Nichols was two for three at the plate to led the Silver Stars in hits. The Silver Stars 17U will be back in action on Wednesday evening, June 30 at Tyler Consolidated High School field at 6:00.

Silver Stars Baseball will be in action in the 2021 Beast of the East tournament. This national event has been a destination for teams across the country for several years and has dozens of college prospects participating every year. Silver Stars will participate in the 16U division and will kick off their games Thursday July 1st at 10:30am vs The Dirtbags and a second at 1:00pm vs Bruisers Cowle Post 151, both at Bridge Park in Wheeling WV. The SilverStars baseball program is honored to be participating in this coveted event and intends to make it an annual schedule mainstay.
