TCHS Boys Baseball Defeats St. Marys

Tyler Consolidated Boys baseball continued their winning streak on Wednesday, May 19 defeating St. Marys by a final score of 12-2. The hot bats of the Silver Knights continued as Zade Billings was two for four with two RBIs and Owen Westbrook was one for four with four RBIs to lead the way. Ty Walton took the win on the mound for the Knights going six innings allowing three hits and only two runs. The win secured the top seed and home field for the Silver Knights in the upcoming sectionals.

TCHS Baseball Hosts Double Header

Tyler Consolidated faced off with Weirton Madonna on Friday, May 21 in a doubleheader in Kidwell. The Knights took the first game 5-4 in walk off fashion.The game was tied going into the bottom of the 7th inning, with Ty Walton at third base scoring the wining run on a passed ball dropped third strike.

Leading the way for the Knights was Ty Walton going one for two scoring one run with one RBI. Weston Henderson was two for three scoring one run, and Jayden Helmick was one for four scoring one run. Hayden Brown got the win on the mound for the Knights going seven innings allowing six hits and four runs.

Game 2 was a different story as the Knights suffered their worst lose of the year falling to Madonna 14-0. The lose ended a school record win streak of 16 in a row. Tyler’s bats were silenced by Madonna pitching as they only manged three hits in 17 at bats.

Next up for the Knights is a LKC matchup with South Harrison at Glenville’s Sue Morris Field.

TCHS Drops LKC Battle to South Harrison

By virtue of the regular season record Tyler Consolidated finished as a number one seed in the Western Division of the LKC earning them a game versus the number two seed in the East Division, South Harrison, which took place on Thursday, May 24 in Glenville. Tyler faced some tough pitching and was held to only one run and three hits in a 9-1 loss. Jaden Helmick was one for two with a run scored. South Harrison went on to defeat Braxton County to claim the LKC Title.

Next up for Tyler is Sectional play on Tuesday June 1 at Kidwell vs Ritchie County.
