Tyler Consolidated Fourth In Rush Invitational Track Meet
Magnolia put on a strong performance on Friday May 21, at the Rush Invitational against still competition. In the 100 meter dash Magnolia’s Jason Beisel finished third in a large field behind Marquis Mauney, 11.07, and Kirk Black, 11.35 of Morgantown high school. Biesel ran a 11.42 good for six points. In the 200 meter Beisel finished in second place with a time of 23.18 good for eight Blue Eagle points. Beisel then turned it up a notch and won the 400 meter dash in a time of 51.32 for 10 more points. Teammate Gavin Postlethwait came in third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.27 good for six more points. Austin Timmons of Tyler Consolidated grabbed the fourth place spot with a time of 53.26 for five points.
The Blue Eagles picked up one more point in the 800 meter run with Gavin Herrick getting eighth place in 2:07.18.
The 1600 meter run had Magnolia’s Brady Renner getting second place with a time of 4:54.69 good for eight Magnolia points.
Tyler Consolidated took first in the 300 meter hurdles with Austin Timmons winning in a time of 46.37 good for 10 points. Magnolia took second and third place with Marcus Barnes getting a 47.71 and Austin Beverlin coming in at 50.52 good for eight and six Blue Eagle points.
Magnolia got third in the 4×100 meter relay with a time of 49.48 with a team of Logan Beegle, Damon Shimp, Sam Zombotti, and Allen Collins good for six points.
The Blue Eagles took second place in the 4×200 meter relay with a team of Beegle, Beisel, Collins, and Postlethwait with a time of 1:37.35 for eight points. In the 4×400 meter relay Magnolia earned six points with a third place finish in a time of 3:42.50 from a team of Postlethwait, Trevor Williamson, Renner, and Gavin Herrick.
The Blue Eagles continued to score big with a first place finish in the 4×800 meter relay with a time of 8:45.31 from a team of Williamson, Sam Zombotti, Renner, and Herrick to add 10 points to their total.
Adding even more to the Blue Eagles total was a first place finish for 10 points in the 4×110 meter shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:05.79 from a team of Chase Glover, Renner, Barnes and Beegle.
Tyler Consolidated got 10 points in the high jump with Hadyn Brown clearing the bar at 6-00.00. Austin Beverlin added four points in the event for the Blue Eagles with a jump of 5-06.00 to land in fifth place.
Hayden Pyles took sixth place with a jump of 5-00.00 good for three points. The Blue Eagle took first place in the pole vault with Logan Beegle clearing the bar at 10-00.00 good for 10 points. Tyler Consolidated took second and third place for 14 total points on vaults of 10-00.00 and 8-00.00. Brayden Vargo came in fourth for Magnolia with a 7-06.00 good for five points. Tyler added three points in the long jump as Sage Landis got a leap of 18-00.00 for sixth place.
The Silver Knights gained eight points for Tyler Consolidated in the shot put with a toss of 41-00.00 by Jaden Holmes. Joey Dawson of Magnolia took fifth place with a toss of 37-10.00 good for four points and Chase Glover added three points for the Blue Eagles with a toss of 36-11.00 for sixth place. Brandon Flanigan added a point to the Blues total with an eighth place toss of 35-10.00. In the discus the Silver Knights picked up five points on a throw of 107-08 from Jayden Holmes for fourth place. Kolbee Cecil got off a throw of 107-03 for fifth place and four points for the Blue Eagles.
