TCMS Girls Softball Lose in Bottom of the Seventh Inning

Tyler Consolidated Middle School Lady Knights fell to Ritchie County 10-9 on Monday May 10 in walk off fashion. Ritchie County trailed 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Emma Blair singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Despite the loss, the Lady Knights collected 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. The Knights were led in hitting by Lexus Rocchio with a home run in the third inning, Jaedyn Gump, Kendi Jackson, Rocchio, and Hailey Sandy all managed multiple hits for Tyler. Jayden Gump was three for four at the plate to lead TCMS. Hailey Sandy was in the pitcher’s circle for Tyler. The righthander lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 hits and ten runs while striking out seven.

TCMS led going into the bottom of the sixth inning but Ritchie County evened things up at eight. The offensive firepower by Ritchie County was led by Alexis Gribble and Emily Bush, who all drove in runs. Blair was on the rubber for Ritchie County. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out four. Ritchie County was led by Lilly Monn with three hits in four at bats.

TCMS Girls Defeat Gilmer County

Lexus Rocchio showed timely hitting on ThursdayMay 13, driving in five runs on three hits to lead Tyler Consolidated Middle School Lady Knights past Gilmer County 15-2. Rocchio drove in runs on a single in the second, a triple in the third, and a single in the fourth. The Lady Knights pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Mackinsey Thomas tripled scoring two runs, Hayden Ebert doubled scoring one run, Kendi Jackson singled scoring one run. Hailey Sandy singled scoring one run, and Rocchio singled scoring one run.

Hailey Sandy was in the pitcher’s circle for TCMS Knights. Sandy lasted three innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out six.

Gilmer County pitching gave up 15 runs on 14 hits and striking out four.

The Lady Knights collected 14 hits on the day. Rocchio, Jackson, Sandy, and Juls Lattea all had multiple hits for TCMS. Rocchio led Tylerwith three hits in four at bats. Three players stole at least two bases. Caylei Forrester led the way with two.

TCMS and Ripley Go Extra Innings

Tyler Consolidated Middle School Lady Knights and Ripley played an extra inning game on Friday May 14, but Lady Knights eventually prevailed 18-15. The game was tied at 15 with the Knights batting in the top of the ninth when an error scored one run. Tyler Consolidated Middle School Lady Knights collected 16 hits and Ripley had 18 in the high-scoring affair. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Ripley tied things up at 15. M Howerton hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

The offensive firepower was led by Alexis Livingston, Mackinsey Thomas, Hayden Ebert, Izzie Murray, and Juls Lattea, who all drove in runs for TCMS.

Ripley scored six runs in the seventh inning to send the game to extra innings.

Hailey Sandy was in the circle for Tyler. She surrendered 15 runs on 18 hits over nine innings, striking out six. Howerton started the game for Ripley. She surrendered 13 runs on 13 hits over six innings, striking out one. Wills threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

TCMS Lady Knights Defeat Bridgeport in High Scoring Affair

Tyler Consolidated Middle School Lady Knights defeated Bridgeport 15-13 in a back-and-forth affair on Tuesday May 18 in Kidwell. The Lady Knights trailed 13-12 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Hayden Ebert homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs. The Knights collected nine hits and Bridgeport had eight in the high-scoring affair. Bridgeport knotted the game up at 11 in the top of the fifth inning, when K Brooks grounded out, scoring one run. Hailey Sandy was on the rubber for Tyler Consolidated Middle School Lady Knights.

The righty allowed eight hits and 13 runs over seven innings, striking out six.The Lady Knights stole 17 bases during the game as five players stole more than one. Rocchio led the way with four. The Silver Knights were led in hitting by Lexus Rocchio going two for three at the plate with three RBIs followed by Hayden Ebert who was two for four with three RBIs. Kenzie Livingston was one for four with two RBIs.
