Hayden Brown Delivers vs Paden City

Tyler Consolidated stands at 19-4 on the season after winning one and dropping one to Weirton Madonna in a twin-bill played at the Silver Knights new complex on Friday night. In the opener the Silver Knights edged out a victory 5-4 with Hayden Brown picking up the win with five K’s and two walks in a complete game performance. Wes Henderson had two singles for the Knights to lead the way from the plate, with Zane Billings and Ty Walton each getting singles and Walton adding an RBI, and scoring a run.

Haney was the losing pitcher for Madonna with two strikeouts and no walks, Bruce started for the visitors and had four K’s but give up seven walks before being pulled.

In the nightcap the visiting Blue Dons put it all together and went home on a happy note with a 14-0 victory that stopped the Knights win streak at 16 and left the Knights with a 19-4 record after starting the season 3-3 back in April.

Matt Amaisermeir put up a good pitching performance for the visitors to pick up the win with nine strikeouts and only one walk Westbrook took the loss for the Knights who used three pitchers in the contest with Gorby entering in the first and striking out one batter and Helmick coming on in relief in the third and setting down four on K’s over the next two innings and walking two.

Silver Knights up win streak to 15 with win over St. Marys

Tyler Consolidated hammered the Blue Devils on Wednesday night at Knights stadium behind Ty Walton’s strong pitching performance for their 15 straight win and 18th overall. Walton dominated the Blue Devils striking out nine batters while giving up just three hits and walking two.

The Knights opened the game by scoring five runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back as they went up 9-0 after four innings. St Marys scored a run in the top of the fifth, but the Knights answered back with one in the bottom of the inning to make it 10-1. St. Marys scored again in the top of the sixth, before the Silver Knights closed it out in the bottom of the inning with two runs.

Owen Westbrook scored a run and knocked in four more to lead the way. Also getting hits for the Knights was Walton Jayden Helmick, Zane Billings who scored twice and got two hits and two RBI. Hayden Brown added a hit and an RBI, while Wes Henderson added two hits.

TCHS Baseball Extends Win Streak to 14

Tyler Consolidated baseball continued they’re winning streak by defeating Paden City 9-3 on Monday, May 17. Leading the way for the Knights was Ty Walton going two for three. Hayden Brown got the win for the Knights improving his record to 5-1. He allowed one hit and two runs over 6 2/3 innings, striking out 13 Mason Nickels threw 1/3 of an inning out of the bullpen. Brandon Hizer took the loss for Paden City. He allowed five hits and eight runs over five innings. The Silver and Black had three players steal at least two bases with Walton leading the way with three. Will McGinnis led Paden City with one hit in four at bats.

TCHS survived a late rush by Paden City in the seventh-inning when they gave up three runs. The offense in the seventh for Paden City was led by Hunter Fletcher, Bryson Stackpole and Alec Chaplin who all drove in runs. The Knights built a lead in the third inning by plating five runs. Garrett Ammons, Jayden Helmick and Zade Billings all had RBIs in the inning.
