TCHS Boys Basketball Falls to Williamstown

The Silver Knights hosted the 9-1 Williamstown Yellow Jackets on Monday, April 5th at Kidwell. The Knights put up a good fight early but the Yellow Jackets started to pull away leading at halftime by the score of 34-21. Caleb Strobe again led the Knights scoring 24 points, including one 3 pointer, folowed by Justin Bowman with 7, Haygen Baker with 9, and Trey Landis with 7. Leading scorer for the game was Williamstown’s Xavier Caruthers with 31 points hitting on six 3 point shots.

The Tyler JV’s were defeated by Williamstown by the score of 31-25. Leading scorer for the Knights was Bayden Tallman with 7 points. The Silver Knights next play host to the Ritchie County Rebels on Tues April 6th.

TYLER CONSOLIDATED BOYS BASKETBALL DEFEATED BY RITCHIE COUNTY

The Ritchie County Rebels came to Kidwell on Tuesday April 6 and went home with a victory by the sciore of 69-54. The Knights fell behind early and despite outscoring the Rebels 28-19 in the fourth quarter the lead was to much to overcome.

Caleb Strobe led the Knights with a double-double scoring 17 points and pulling down 12 rebounds followed by Justin Bowman with 15 points. Tyler only manged to shoot 35 percent from the floor while Ritchie shot 50 percent. The Rebels placed 3 players in double figures led by Graden McKinney with 20 points, Issac Slater 12, and Ethan Haught with 13 points.

The Tyler JV’s pulled out a victory over the Rebels by the score of 51-26 led by Zach Morris with 12 points.

Next up for the Silver Knights is an LKC Placement Game on Thursday April 8 with the site to be determined.

TCHS BOYS DROP LKC PLACEMENT GAME

Tyler Consolidated came up on the short end of their LKC Placement game vs Gilmer County by the score of 55-46. Tyler was looking to advance to the next round of the LKC and put up a good fight led by Trey Landis with 20 points. Caleb Strobe came away with 16 points. Gilmore County was led in scoring by Josh Lipscomb with 25 points and Ty Wellings with 10.

Tyler’s record fell to 8-8 but look to have a wining season with the final two games. Tyler wraps up the regular season with Paden City at home on April 13 and Wood County Christian on the road on April 16th.
