Tyler Youth Teams Find Success While During 2020 Season
COVID-19 has placed many restrictions on our lives, and the Tycon Knights Youth League was no different. Since the beginning of the season, there have been changes in guidelines and stricter restrictions place on the leagues regarding practices and play. Although the season was much different, the coaches were happy to bring some normalcy back into these kids’ lives, even if only for a brief period. The players worked hard at practices and their performances in competition proved that
The A-team has overcome much opposition and finished the season as co-champions, along with Roane County. Due to the regulations set forth by the WVSSAC and the LKC Board the championship game was not able to be played, therefore, co-champions were named. They faced tough competition in the North division and ended the season with a 6-1 record. The Tycon Knights A-Team was coached by John Satterfield, Todd Smith, Anthony Farrell, Eric Glover, Eric Mason, Rodney Boggs, Sean Winfrey and Jimmy Tennant.
Tycon Cheerleaders – The same goes for the Tycon Knights Cheerleaders who, because of COVID-19 had to participate in a “Virtual Cheer Competition”.
Each squad was filmed live and scored by a panel of judges. This year our Tycon Knights A-Team placed 1st in their division. They are coached by Sasha Farrell, Shayla Griffey and Raylynn Roberts.
