Wildcats Improve to 19-1 With Win over Hornets

The Powerful Paden City Wildcats hosted the Hundred Hornets at Bob Burton Gymnasium October 22, and made easy work of the Hornets as they cruised to victory in three straight sets 25-0, 26-6, 25-6. The Lady Cats returned to action after a four-peat win Saturday, over Wellsville in the OVAC title game.

Senior All-State Mallory Yeater recorded her 2000th career assist in the first set of the match. Yeater had 24 straight service points in leading the Cats to a 25-0 win in set one.

The Cats improve their record to 19-1, while the Hornets fall to 3-14 on the season.Paden City defeats Hundred in 3 set sweep.

For the match Yeater was the top performer with 28 points from the service line, while adding six kills, 11 assists, two digs and six aces. She was backed on the night by all-stater Hope Weber with 17 service points, which included nine unreturnable aces, eight assists, five kills and two digs. Adding ample support to the Wildcats charge was a great supporting cast of players with Maggi Still 2 kills, 1 assist, Brandis Dalrymple 5 kills, 1 block, Tanley McEldowney 4 points, 2 aces, 1 dig, Madi Kline 11 points, 2 kills, 1 dig, McKenzie Thomas 1 kill, 2 digs, Hallie McDonald 1 assist, and Alyssa Phillips 1 dig.

The Cats will soon be performing in the WVSSAC sectional tournament with hopes of moving through the secions and regionals for a trip back to Charleston and the state even.
