Silver Knights Fall to a Strong Yellowjackets Team

By Randy Rutherford - Staff Writer | Oct 21, 2020

Tyler Consolidated ran into a strong Williamstown Yellowjackets team on Friday night October 16, losing 41-6. Williamstown made things tough on the Silver Knights all night as the Williamstown defense created several turnovers and quickly turned them into points.

The Silver Knights first drive of the game ended with a punt and the Yellowjackets wasted little time scoring the game’s first points.

After giving up the first TD, the Silver Knights had their best drive of the game, only to give the ball up on downs deep in Yellowjackets territory. WHS then moved the ball downfield to make the score 14-0. Tyler began to see some success on offense, however, a big sack by Williamstown’s Leewood Molessa forced a fumble by Tyler QB Trenton Huffman. One play later WHS was on the scoreboard again and it was to much for Tyler to overcome and they trailed 34-0 at halftime.

Tyler finally got on the board in the fourth quarter when Hunter Throckmorton scored on a 15 yard TD run. Throckmorton finished the game with 22 carries for 121 yards.

Tyler is on the road vs Magnolia on Friday October 23 and will be looking to get back on track against their main rival.
