Paden City Now 16-1 Defeats River in 3 Sets

The powerful Paden City girl volleyball team beat the River Pilots on October 8, at the Bob Burton Gymnasium in three sets, 25-8, 25-9, and 25-7.. The Wildcats boost their record to 16-1 on the season.

Coach Jennifer Yeater’s Lady Cats jumped out to a 15-3 lead on the Lady Pilots in first set and never were threatened on there way to a 25-8 win. The home standing Green and White got a total team effort on their way to victory.

The second set was the Cats going out to a 9-4 lead and stretched the lead out to 19-8. Senior Maggi Still got the game winning kill to win the set 25-9.

The Pilots got the third sets first two points to lead 2-0 and lost the next volley turning the serve over to Senior Hope Weber ahead 2-1. The senior standout had 17 straight service points to push the Cats out to 18-2 lead that they would not look back and go on to sweeping the match in three sets. Weber got the game point with a thunderous spike for the mighty Wildcats.

Making the stat book for the Cat’s were Mallory Yeater 13 points, 2 aces, 9 kills, 1 block, 14 assists and 8 digs, Hope Weber with a monster night of 27 points, 6 aces, 13 kills, 14 assists, 2 digs, and a block. Maggi Still with 6 points, 1 block, 1 assist and 3 digs, Brandis Dalrymple 2 points, 4 kills, 2 digs, 2 blocks, Tanley McEldowney 2 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 block, 3 digs, Madi Kline 4 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs, McKenzie Thomas 1 assist, 3 digs, Kelsey Michael 1 dig, Alyssa Phillips 5 digs, Hallie McDonald 2 kills.

Wildcats Sweep Quad to Improve Record to 15-1

Lady Cats win Quad in Six Sets

The Mighty Lady Wildcats traveled to Tyler Consolidated Gym October 6, to battle Cameron, Gilmer, and Tyler in a quad match. The Cats sweep the quad in six straight sets and improved to 15-1 on the season.

Paden City defeated Cameron in the first match 25-6 and 25-7 to start off the evening in dominating fashion. In the Match with Cameron, Mallory Yeater led the way with 18 points, 5 aces, 13 assists and 5 digs, Maggi Still got 13 points, 4 aces, 1 kill, and 2 assists, and Brandis Dalrymple served up12 points, 7 aces, 1 kill, and 1 dig. Hope Weber 13 kills, Tanley McEldowney 2 kills, 2 digs and McKenzie Thomas 2 digs ended the stats for the match.

Next up for Coach Jennifer Yeater’s Lady Cats was Gilmer County coming into the match with a 11-6 record. They were no match for the victorious Paden City ladies, as the Green and White took care of business and beat them in two sets, 25-14 and 25-16. Mallory Yeater paced the Cat’s with13 points, 3 aces, 11 kills, 15 assists and 5 digs, while Hope Weber added 3 points, 1 ace, 14 kills, 9 assists, 3 blocks, 2 digs. Maggi Still 6 points, 2 aces, 3 assists and 1 dig, Brandis Dalrymple 2 kills, 1 block, 2 digs, Tanley McEldowney 5 points, 1 ace, 5 digs, Madi Kline 1 kill, 1 dig, McKenzie Thomas 4 points, 8 digs, Kelsey Michael 3 digs and Hallie McDonald 1 kill, 2 assists, 1 dig ended the scoring.

Hope Weber, Mallory Yeater, Maggi Still, Brandis Dalrymple, Tanley McEldowney, McKenzie Thomas, Madison Kline, Hallie McDonald, and Kelsey Michael dominated the Tyler Consolidated Knights in two sets. First set score was 25-16 and second set 25-16 for the winning Wildcats.

Stats for the match included Yeater’s 11 points, 1 ace, 8 kills, 16 assists, and 10 digs and Weber’s 4 points, 15 kills, 9 assists, 6 digs. Maggi Still 4 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 5 digs, Brandis Dalrymple 2 kills, 1 block, 1 dig, Tanley McEldowney 1 point, 1 kill, 1 assist and 6 digs, Madi Kline 2 points, 3 kills, McKenzie Thomas 8 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 2 assists and 5 digs, Kelsey Michael 3 digs, and Hallie McDonald 1 kill, 5 assists.

Tyler defeated Gilmer and Cameron to improve their record to 12-7 before falling to the Cats and now are 12-8 against good competition.

Paden City wins Tri-Match over Clay Batelle and Trinity

The Wildcats easily rolled over Trinity on Monday night, October 5, at Clay Battelle as the Cat’s took the match in two straight sets 25-4 and 25-5 and improved to 12-1 on the season. Senior All-Staters Mallory Yeater and Hope Weber led the charge with Yeater getting 14 points, 5 aces, 4 kills, 12 assists and 3 digs, while Weber scored 11 points, 2 aces, 8 kills, 5 assists and 1 dig. Both players saw limited action on the night. Adding to the stat sheet was Hallie McDonald with 6 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 assist and 1 dig. Maggi Still 6 points, 2 aces, 1 dig., Brandis Dalrymple 2 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 2 blocks, Madi Kline 2 kills, 2 blocks, McKenzie Thomas 1 kill and 4 digs and Kelsey Michael 2 points, 1 ace, 1 dig.

The Wildcats got the win over Clay Batelle in their second match of the night 25-8, and 25-14 to win the Tri-Match. Yeater scored 7 points, 4 kills, and 11 assists, Weber 2 points, 10 kills, 8 assists and 2 digs. Maggi Still had 12 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 1 dig, Brandis Dalrymple 5 points, 1 ace, 3 kills, 1 block, 1 dig, Tanley McEldowney 5 points, 2 aces, 2 kills, 1 assist and 2 digs, Madi Kline 6 points, 2 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs, Kelsey Michael 1 dig, McKenzie Thomas 2 assists and 4 digs, and Hallie McDonald 1 assist and 1 dig.
