Paden City Proving Tough in Early Going

Paden City got another big win over a worthy foe on Tuesday night in Williamstowm. The Yellowjackets playing host to the tough Wildcats took an early 9-1 lead before Paden City went on am impressive run to take a 12-11 lead and never look back enroute to winning the match in three straight sets 25-17, 25-11, and 25-13.

Strong serving and big kills by Paden City was to much for the home team to handle as the Cat’s claimed their sixth straight win and remain unbeaten on the early season. In the past week the Cat’s have got big wins over Wirt County (last years state champs) and Williamstown who also makes a habbit of getting to the state tournament.

The Wildcats payed the net strong all night and used superior serving to out distance their foe, with Hope Weber slamming down 15 kills, while scoring four points from the service line, including an ace, and adding seven assists and three digs.

She was not alone however as she got ample support from McKenzie Thomas who offered up 16 points including three aces. She also added a kill and hit the floor for 15 digs.

Tanley McEldowney was also strong at the service line as she collected 10 points, and 2 aces, while getting one kill, one assist, and three digs. Mallory Yeater had 18 assists, nine digs, six kills, and one service point. Maggi Still scored nine points, with an ace, plus added one kill, three assists, and three digs. Brandis Dalrymple had 4 kills, 1 block, and 1 assist, and Madi Kline scored 8 points, 2 aces, and had 3 kills, 1 assist, and 5 digs. Kelsey Michael had 3 digs and Hallie McDonald 1 kill, and 1 assist

Wildcats defeat Beallsville in Straight Sets 25-15, 25-16, 25-18

Paden City made it five wins in a row as they defeated a good Blue Devils team on Monday night September 14, in Beallsville. The Wildcats who look to be in mid-season form out powered the home team with 35 team kills and superior serving as six players combined for 48 service points and 13 Aces. The Wildcats also had 44 digs from seven different players.

Mallory Yeater led the way 16 points, including three aces, nine kills, 21 assists and eight digs. Hope Weber added seven points, one ace, 18 kills, nine assists, and 11 digs. Overall nine players reached the stat sheet with Maggi Still getting 7 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 1 block, and 3 assists, Brandis Dalrymple 7 points, 4 aces, 2 kills, 1 block, and 2 digs, Tanley McEldowney 1 kill, and 7 digs, Madi Kline 9 points, 4 aces, 3 kills, and a block, McKenzie Thomas 14 digs, Kelsey Michael 1 dig, and Hallie McDonald 2 points, 2 assists, and one dig.
