Wildcats Down Clay Battelle in Three Straight Sets
Hope Weber helped Paden City sweep Clay-Battelle as she had 13 kills, nine points, 10 assists and three aces. Mallory Yeater added 19 assists and slammed eight kills, she added six points and four digs.
McKenzie Thomas helped out with six points, one ace, one kill, one assist, and seven digs. Tanley McEldowney got five points, one ace, three kills, one assist, and two digs, while Madi Kline garnered eight points, one ace, five kills, and a dig.
Maggi Still hit down12 points, added four aces, and one kill. Brandis Dalrymple had five points, one kill, two blocks, and one dig, and Hallie McDonald one kill, four assists, and a dig. Kelsey Michael 1 kill, 1 assist, Alyssa Phillips 2 digs rounded out the stat sheet.
Paden City defeats Frontier 3-1
Paden City won their season opening volleyball match on Wednesday at Frontier, Ohio, against the Cougars. The Wildcats looked a little rusty in the beginning losing set one in overtime 30-28. However they came back strong against a good Frontier team and too the next two sets both by 25-23 scores.
The match ended after the fourth set as the Wildcats superior play gave them the victory 25-19 to take the match 3-1.
Mallory Yeater 10 points, 2 aces, 18 kills, 21 assists and Hope Weber 17 kills, 17 assists, 3 block led coach Jennifer Yeater’s team, while Tanley McEldowney tacked on 11 points, 3 aces, 5 digs. McKenzie Thomas 5 points, 10 digs, Maggi Still 4 points, 4 kills, 3 assists, Brandis Dalrymple 2 kill, 10 blocks, Madi Kline 5 points, 1 ace, 5 kills, 4 blocks and Kelsey Michael 3 digs all provided support.
