RAVEN FULKS

Paden City Coach Josh Fulks has high expectation for the 2020 Wildcat softball season. Fulks has seven retuning players from last year, and the good news is a nine freshmen are out looking for playing time. Returning to the Cats lineup will be junior Erin McIntyre (P,3B) who hit .394 last season. Sophomore Neveah Sweeney will give the Cats another hard thrower from the mound and another good bat as she hit .356, when not on the mound she will be the designated hitter. Junior Raven Fulks returns at catcher and will also play some SS. She swings a big bat hitting at .426 last year.

Madison Kline a sophomore is back for her second year and will man the 1st base position while also spending some time in center field. She also hits well at .327. Skylar Fulks and Loren Little both return for their senior seasons to provide leadership for the Wildcats. Sophomore Bradis Dalrymple will bring some athleticism and good speed to the team and will probably be the center fielder.

Top newcomers who are vying for playing time are freshmen Tanley McEldowney a three sport star, who will spend time on the mound also and should hold down 3rd when not pitching. Freshman McKenzie Thomas another three sport player, brings a wealth of talent to the game. She will hold down SS and could find herself behind the plate if needed. Thomas and McEldowney both have great natural ability and should help the Wildcats once they settle in to the program. Freshman Alyssa James brings a solid game to the plate and should hold down an outfield job.

Other first time varsity players looking for playing time will be freshmen Haley Walton, Faith Duncan, Lexus Clegg, Abby Brady and Audri Jackson.

Coach Fulks and Assistant Coach Tim Raper are both be in their second year at the helm, and are working hard to improve on last seasons 4-22 record.

SKYLER FULKS

“We have high expectations for the team this year. First and foremost we want to improve each and every game and teach the fundamentals at every practice. We are going to be a young team coming into this season. Returning players: S. Fulks, Little, R. Fulks, and McIntyre are upper classman and are going to be expected to lead the team and help guide the younger players. Erin looks to be doing the bulk of the pitching this season, her back up on the mound will be So. N. Sweeny and Freshman Tanley McEldowney. We have set some goals for this season including playing for an OVAC Championship and making some noise in the sectionals,” said Coach Fulks.

“We will have several girls fighting for playing time this. We are excited to get the season underway.”
